Are pitches checked?

For hosts to keep offering their pitches, they need to be used fairly. Unfortunately, some vehicles park on our pitches without paying. This unpaid parking harms hosts and is unfair to everyone who checks in properly.

How are checks carried out?

At irregular intervals, Parkn'Sleep checks whether the vehicles on a pitch are properly checked in. The checks are carried out by authorised Parkn'Sleep staff or partners.

What happens if you park without paying?

If a vehicle is on the pitch without a valid booking, a subsequent pitch fee of CHF 80 is charged. A surcharge for the cost of the check may be added. To make up for the lost revenue, the host receives 50% of the pitch fee charged.

Paid differently on site?

If you paid through a local system or directly to the host, we waive the penalty fee on presentation of a valid proof of payment.

Legal framework

The checks follow local law. Parkn'Sleep acts on behalf of the hosts, who keep their property rights and authorise us to carry out checks. We only check whether a vehicle is properly checked in. Vehicles and people are not searched.

The vast majority behave fairly, and we are very grateful for that. The checks make sure it stays that way.
